PROBLEM Locked phone
HEADLINE Vodacom cannot unlock a phone???
THE INCIDENT

Ported my cell to another supplier a few months ago.
Was not informed that there is a mandatory limit of R780 usage unless waived within the first 5 months so my phone is now locked.
These things happen fine but the service provider ought to have informed me.
What is unbelievable is that vodacom has informed me that there is no way they can unlock this phone until the 5 months have expired. No form I can submit, nothing. I must carry on paying for the line until my 5 months has run its course and the lock automatically released.
Shivani Naido from Vodacom handled my complaint in as polite a manner as possible so hats off to her but stated categorically that it would be useless for me to speak to anyone else at vodacom as my phone will never unlock before it's due date.
It's almost funny.
